Time limit of abortions raised to 9 weeks

The Drug Controller General of India has raised the time limit of abortions to 63 days, that is nine weeks from the earlier seven weeks.

The time limit for abortions has been increased from seven to nine weeks to facilitate family planning, the Drug Controller General of India has said.
Nozer Sherian, secretary general of the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies (FOGSI), said today, "The Drug Controller General has increased the time limit of abortions to 63 days, that is nine weeks."
