Lucknow: Junior teachers hailing from different districts of Uttar Pradesh today held a protest near the Uttar Pradesh Assembly for delay in issuing appointment letters to them, following which police resorted to lathicharge, allegedly leading to injuries to some of them.
The teachers had come here to hold a protest against delay in issuance of appointment letters among other demands but were stopped from proceeding towards the Vidhan Sabha. According to President of the Junior teachers Niyukti Morcha Vivekanand Pandey, despite the completion of the selection process several months ago, appointment letters have not yet been issued as the government is not appropriately taking up the issue in the court where the matter is pending.
