Nagpur: Mumbai blasts convict Yakub Memon, whose last-ditch effort to escape the noose at the Central Prison on his 53rd birthday on Thursday was rejected by the Supreme Court, has not prepared any will so far, the convict's lawyer Anil Gedam said in Nagpur.

"Yakub was hopeful of some kind of relief from the Supreme Court and also from his mercy petition with the President. He probably thought he would survive and will not be hanged which is why he did not prepare any will," Gedam told PTI.
