He further noted that the Central government had established the first National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) in 2020, well before the three new criminal laws — Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) — came into effect

In his address after the inauguration, Shah also said that support has been extended to every state to establish a forensic van in every district, and even many states have expanded their forensic laboratories
