Maharashtra government's newly launched Electric Vehicle (EV) policy aims to promote the manufacturing and the use of electric vehicles in the state, state transport minister Pratap Sarnaik said on Wednesday
The EV policy, effective from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2030, includes measures such as mandatory EV-charging infrastructure in new residential buildings and incentives such as toll exemptions for EV users
Sarnaik underlined Maharashtra's leading position in the automobile manufacturing sector in India
The forum brought together top commercial vehicle manufacturers, auto suppliers, dealers, and transport industry leaders. They discussed current industry trends, new innovations, and the future of transportation
Important topics such as off-highway segments, sustainable transport, and electric mobility were deeply discussed. During the event, the Commercial Vehicle and Fleet Awards were given to individuals and companies for their outstanding work in the industry
Sarnaik stated that such platforms to strengthen the commercial vehicle sector were important and assured continued government support to make this sector more efficient and user-friendly
