Earlier in the day, the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court took suo motu cognisance of the 20-km-long traffic jam caused by the agitation and directed the protesters, led by party chief and former minister Bachchu Kadu, to vacate the site by 6 pm
Kadu, addressing the gathering later, said the protesters would comply with the court’s order but also court arrest, asking the administration to make arrangements for their detention
Farmer leader and former MP Raju Shetti also joined the protest, which had led to major congestion on the Nagpur–Wardha stretch
Shetti criticised the state government for not sending ministers for talks and called for a “jail bharo andolan”
As of 7 pm, Kadu, Shetti, Wamanrao Chatap, and Madhav Jankar remained at the Jamtha flyover along with hundreds of farmers, keeping the highway blocked since Tuesday night
