The Noida International Airport is expected to play a key role in improving air connectivity in the Delhi-NCR region
It will serve as the second international airport for the region, alongside the existing Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi
Together, both airports are expected to ease congestion, increase passenger capacity and help position the region as a global aviation hub
The Phase 1 of the airport has been developed at an estimated cost of Rs 11,200 crore under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model
Initially, the airport will be able to handle 12 million passengers per year, with plans to expand capacity to 70 million passengers annually in the future
