With water levels now receding, the situation in the affected areas has gradually improved. The district administration, however, continues to monitor the situation

An ailing girl studying at Binagonda Ashram School was also safely evacuated with the assistance of an NDRF team

The team helped her cross the flooded Gundenur nullah and shifted her to the Primary Health Centre at Laheri for medical treatment

The evacuation operation was carried out under the guidance of District Collector Avishyant Panda and the leadership of Tehsildar Kishor Bagde

Officials said the safety of residents remained the administration’s priority.
