The Congress on Tuesday said that the adjournments were due to the Modi government refusing a discussion on the "votebandi being orchestrated in Bihar and other states" by the Election Commission.
Opposition MPs, including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, on Tuesday held a protest in the Parliament House complex against the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
The opposition MPs gathered on the steps of Makar Dwar of Parliament and raised slogans against the SIR exercise, alleging it amounts to stealing elections.
Opposition MPs of the Upper House and the Lower House of Parliament also held placards like 'SIR: Stealing Indian Rights' and 'SIR: Subverting Indian Republic.'
During the meeting, the Opposition decided to press for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's presence in the House to answer questions on key issues.
Meanwhile, both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha faced major disruptions on the second day of the Monsoon Session amid Opposition protests.
