According to officials, the drill was held simultaneously in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and across the wider National Capital Region
Personnel from multiple departments, including fire services, police, and the revenue department, actively participated in the rehearsals. Rescue and relief operations were staged at various sites such as Ramesh Nagar Metro Station, Mother International School, and Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital
At RML Hospital, officials simulated emergency response mechanisms for potential earthquake impacts and industrial accidents. At Mother International School, participants practised cutting off gas and electricity connections upon receiving the earthquake signal, followed by rescue operations
"The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), in collaboration with the Indian Army and the governments of Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, is organising 'Exercise Suraksha Chakra' that culminates with a field-level mock drill"
As per a statement from the authority, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) is spearheading the coordination of this mock drill, aimed at evaluating Delhi-NCR’s preparedness in the event of an earthquake or industrial chemical hazard
