Opposition MPs raise slogans in the Parliament premises, calling for Amit Shah to address allegations of excessive police force during the July 20 'Sansad Chalo' protest. They also demanded that criminal cases filed against student protesters be withdrawn.

According to Opposition leaders, parties have decided to continue their agitation and refrain from participating in House discussions until the government responds to their demands regarding the alleged police crackdown on students.

Ahead of the day's protest, Opposition floor leaders met at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's office in Parliament to finalise their strategy for the Monsoon Session. The meeting was attended by Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Saugata Roy, Mahua Manjhi, Ramji Lal Suman, P. Sandosh Kumar, KC Venugopal, and Jairam Ramesh.

Before the demonstration, Rahul Gandhi accused the Centre of unleashing "brutality" against students and demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi apologise to the youth. In a post on X, he alleged that AK-47 bullets were fired at protesting students in Bihar and pellet guns were used against students in Delhi.

The Opposition said its protest was aimed at seeking accountability over the alleged police action during the July 20 'Sansad Chalo' march, organised over alleged irregularities in the NEET and CBSE examinations. Delhi Police has maintained that force was used only after sections of the crowd turned violent during the demonstrations.
