Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday said the state is rich in uranium reserves and has the potential to contribute significantly to the manufacturing of nuclear weapons
Speaking at the Defence East Tech Symposium in Ranchi, Soren emphasised his government’s readiness to fully cooperate with the Central government to make India’s defence sector self-reliant
Uranium is a critical component in the development of nuclear weapons, and Jharkhand houses some of India’s key uranium mines
“Jharkhand is endowed with uranium and can contribute to nuclear weapon manufacturing. The state government is fully prepared to cooperate with the Centre to strengthen self-reliance in the defence sector,” the chief minister stated
