Two Indian Railway officials sustained minor injuries in the collision, which disrupted train services on the upline. The injured personnel were identified as Anuj Raj (28) and Shiv Shankar Yadav (35).
Both officials were brought to the Community Health Centre (CSC) at around 7 am for treatment, where they received first aid.
The injured were later discharged from the health facility after receiving medical attention. Rescue and restoration operations are currently underway to clear the affected section and resume normal train traffic.
The accident occurred at approximately 6 am in the dedicated freight corridor near Pambhirpur, Khaga in Fatehpur. It is believed that the freight train rammed into the stationary goods train, causing the derailment.
According to authorities, the loco pilot of the moving freight train may have fallen asleep at the wheel, which contributed to the accident. Railway authorities are assessing the damage and making efforts to restore operations as soon as possible.
