Heavy rainfall triggered a major landslide at the Moshi garbage depot in Pune district in Maharashtra on Tuesday, causing a large mound of waste to collapse onto the administrative building of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Waste-to-Energy project, officials said. Officials fear that eight to ten employees may be trapped beneath the collapsed waste and debris

However, authorities have not yet confirmed the exact number of people trapped, and search operations are still in progress

The number of people affected will only be confirmed after rescue teams complete their search of the site

Teams from the Fire Brigade and the Disaster Management Department are carrying out rescue and evacuation efforts

The operation includes clearing debris, searching for trapped workers and ensuring the area is safe for rescue personnel
