Anant Ambani all set to bring lions & tigers from Argentina to Vantara

A group of about 60 felines will soon be translocated from an Argentine zoo to an Indian sanctuary due to overpopulation. The tigers and lions will travel from Argentina to India to live in Anant Ambani’s ‘Vantara’. The ‘Vantara’ owned by Anant Ambani in Gujarat, has thousands of hectares and a rescue centre for elephants. The Lujan Zoo, 60 kilometers in Buenos Aires, was closed during COVID-19 but would be reopened soon. The zoo has an overpopulation of felines, including ligers- lion and tiger crosses, pumas. ‘Vantara’ in Gujarat’s Jamnagar was recently launched in February 2024 by Reliance Industries and Reliance Foundation. Vantara, an ambitious program is dedicated to the rescue, treatment, care, and rehabilitation of animals. The rescue, rehabilitation center spanning 650 acres has been established within the extensive 3000-acre premises in Jamnagar.
