The Supreme Court of India on Monday upheld the abrogation of Article 370 in a five-judge Constitution bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud. While some political leaders welcomed the Article 370 verdict, others expressed their disappointment. PM Modi in a tweet, welcomed the verdict terming it historic, a beacon of hope and a promise of a brighter future. National Conference leader Omar Abdullah and Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) President and former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad expressed their disappointment. On the other hand, Senior Congress leader and Maharaja Hari Singh's son Karan Singh and Shiv Sena(UBT) MP Arvind Sawant welcomed the verdict.
