Ten infants were killed in a fire that swept through the Sick Newborn Care Unit at the Bhandara District General Hospital of Maharashtra, at around 1.30am of 9th January. Seven other infants in the unit were rescued. As the hospital and district administration claim that a short circuit led to the fire, the police have roped in a high-level committee to probe the incident further.
