Cockroach Janta Party hacked amid Pakistan follower controversy?

Updated On: 23 May, 2026 03:58 PM IST

India’s viral Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is now at the center of a massive internet controversy after founder Abhijeet Dipke claimed that the party’s Instagram account was “hacked” and its backup page taken down. The dramatic development came just as social media exploded with allegations that a large share of CJP’s followers were from Pakistan and Bangladesh. The satirical Gen-Z political movement shocked the internet after crossing more than 20 million followers in just days, even overtaking the BJP on Instagram. But BJP leaders, including Tajinder Bagga, soon accused the party of having a suspicious foreign follower base, calling it “Pakistan Janta Party.” Alleged follower data shared online claimed Pakistan, Bangladesh and the United States accounted for a large percentage of the page’s audience.
