Heavy rain, strong winds and a powerful dust storm lashed Delhi in the early hours of Sunday, bringing the city to a halt. Widespread waterlogging led to major traffic jams and delays across the capital. In Delhi Cantt, shocking visuals showed a bus and a car submerged at a flooded underpass, underscoring the severity of the downpour. Key areas such as ITO, Dhaula Kuan, Subroto Park, Nanakpura Underpass, and Chanakyapuri also experienced severe flooding, compounding the chaos. The storm didn’t just cripple traffic—strong winds uprooted trees on Akbar Road, and power supply was disrupted in several parts of the city. Air travel was also hit, with 49 flights diverted between 11:30 PM and 4:00 AM. In response, Indira Gandhi International Airport issued a travel advisory for passengers.
