Following the fourth round of meetings with the farming leaders in connection with the ongoing farmers protest 2024, the Union Minister Piyush Goyal said on February 19 that a detailed discussion was held with Bhartiya Kisan Mazdoor. He further stated that the outcome of the meeting was very positive. We had a detailed discussion on how to carry forward the work done by PM Modi in the last 10 years, he further added. What is to be seen next is if the farmers will end their protest now. The protesting farmers were demanding implementation of the Swaminathan Commission`s recommendations, pension for farmers and farm labourers, and withdrawal of police cases besides loan waiver and a legal guarantee for minimum support price (MSP).
