Farmers Protest: Delhi Chalo March halted for two days after death of 21 year old

Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher on February 22 announced that the Delhi Chalo` protest march will be put on hold for 2 days as a 21 year old youth namely Shubhkaran died on February 21 during the protest at khanauri border crossing in Punjab`s Sangrur district during clashes with Haryana Police. Some farmers alleged that he was killed in the tear gas shelling by the police. Sarwan Singh said that the protest will continue at the same place wherever it is continuing. On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann came out in support of Shubhakaran’s family after the 21-year-old lost his life in the ongoing farmers` protest. He further stated that whichever police personnel are responsible for Shubhkaran`s death, action will be taken against them. He further added that the Punjab government will provide financial aid to Shubhkaran’s family.
