Maharashtra state minister Dhananjay Munde resigned from his position on Tuesday, following the involvement of his close aide, Walmik Karad, in the Beed sarpanch murder case. Munde expressed his strong belief that the accused should face the harshest punishment for the crime. The NCP leader stated he followed his "inner self" in making the decision to resign. He also mentioned that his health has not been good, and his doctor has recommended immediate treatment. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis confirmed the resignation, stating that it had been forwarded to Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan. The resignation came after significant pressure from opposition parties demanding his removal from the state cabinet. Fadnavis held an urgent late-night meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and other senior NCP leaders, including Munde, to discuss the matter
