A tragic fire broke out on May 18 at a building in Gulzar House near Charminar in Hyderabad. The massive blaze quickly spread, claiming the lives of 17 people. Firefighters and rescue teams rushed to the scene and worked hard to control the flames. Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, Telangana State Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, and the state`s DGP visited the site to assess the situation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives. In a message on social media, he offered condolences to the families of the victims. He also announced financial help — Rs 2 lakh each for the families of those who died, and Rs 50,000 for those who were injured, from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.
