In a bid to empower women, PM Narendra Modi has launched the ‘Namo Drone Didi’ scheme. Under this scheme, 15,000 self-help groups will be given drones during the period 2024-25 to 2025-2026 for providing rental services to farmers for agriculture purpose, and the women will be given drone pilot training. Women will be trained as drone pilots so that they can be financially empowered and receive people`s respect. PM Modi said he wanted these women trained in operating drones to receive `naman` (respect) in their villages and that some people have suggested the name of `Namo Drone Didi` for the initiative.
