On the Nashik-Aurangabad highway, a bus caught fire after hitting a trailer truck transporting diesel. Around 5.30 a.m, the accident occurred near Nashik’s Nandur Naka. As per officials, At least 12 people, including a child, were killed and 30 injured. PM Modi expressed pain at the loss of lives and announced ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh from PMNRF. The injured would be given ₹50,000. According to Nashik DCP Amol Tambe, a case has been registered and an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the fire
