11 workers trapped in mine rescued after 40 hours in China

All the 11 miners who were trapped in a mine pit in southwest China's Yunnan Province have been brought out to safety after 40 hours of rescue operation

Beijing: All the 11 miners who were trapped in a mine pit in southwest China's Yunnan Province have been brought out to safety after 40 hours of rescue operation.

The trapped miners were brought out on stretchers through a tunnel excavated during the rescue early today morning. A cave-in had occurred at a stannum mine in Lianghe County at around 1 pm, local time, on Saturday, when the miners were working underground, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
