Asanish Kalyanasundaram, who hails from Lancasire in northwest England, got the highest possible grades in maths, physics, chemistry, biology and critical thinking, as required at A-Levels in Britain.

Kalyanasundaram, an aspiring surgeon, will go to Cambridge University to study medicine in October.

A spokesman for Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School said the teenager was one of the brightest pupils they
