London: Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn was mocked by the British newspaper &lsquo;The Daily Telegraph for saying that the rule for publishing tax returns should be extended political journalists as well.

Speaking on the BBC&rsquo;s Andrew Marr programme, Corbyn said that this would allow voters to see, &ldquo;what influences&rdquo; there were on people in public life. Corbyn said this after PM David Cameron published his tax returns after it was revealed that he had money in an offshore fund run by his late father, Ian Cameron.
The headline of a column in The Daily Telegraph said, &ldquo;Jeremy Corbyn&rsquo;s plan to make journalists publish their tax returns is North Korea-style madness.&rdquo; The column by Tom Harris further said, &ldquo;Government regulation of the press is a bad enough idea.
Special new rules for the regulation of individual journalists and their tax affairs would take us beyond Corbyn Labour&rsquo;s admiration for Russian authoritarianism into weird, North Korean totalitarian territory.&rdquo;
