Amid growing concerns over the ongoing tensions in West Asia and disruptions in international flights across Gulf countries, including the United Arab Emirates, a man from Rajasthan has opened his farmhouse in Dubai to shelter hundreds of stranded people.

Dhiraj Jain has offered temporary accommodation at his farmhouse to around 250 individuals who were left stranded due to flight disruptions in Dubai and the rest of the UAE, triggered by the escalating conflict in the region. Many of those sheltered include Indian families who were unable to travel as scheduled.

Praising Dhiraj’s efforts, Anand Mahindra, while taking it to social media, wrote, “When recent flight disruptions left several Indian families stranded in Dubai, Dhiraj Jain opened the doors of his farmhouse and welcomed them in.”

The humanitarian gesture has drawn widespread appreciation on social media, including praise from industrialist Anand Mahindra. Anand Mahindra, calling it a reflection of Indian values, further added, “A wonderful reminder that the Indian ethos of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ should travel with us wherever we go.”

The industrialist further remarked that acts of compassion can help restore people’s faith in humanity. He also added, “Sometimes all it takes is one person opening a door… to restore people’s faith in each other.”

Dhiraj’s gesture of providing shelter to stranded passengers in the UAE resonated widely online, with several users praising him for stepping forward during a time of uncertainty.

As tensions continue to impact travel and daily life in parts of West Asia, the act has been seen as an example of solidarity and humanitarian spirit among the Indian diaspora abroad.
