Security forces have arrested 27 individuals involved in looting, arson, and violent acts across Nepal, including Kathmandu, according to The Himalayan Times
The arrests were made between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning during a nationwide deployment of troops to manage escalating protests
In Kathmandu’s Gausala-Chabahil-Bouddha corridor, authorities recovered NPR 3.37 million in stolen cash. Additionally, a significant cache of weapons was seized, including 31 firearms with magazines and ammunition, 23 confiscated in Kathmandu and 8 in Pokhara
The Nepalese Army confirmed that 23 police officers and 3 civilians injured in recent clashes are currently receiving treatment at military hospitals
In response to the escalating violence, the Army has imposed prohibitory orders and extended a nationwide curfew to restore order amid the ongoing Gen Z-led protests
