Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker, has publicly declared the shooting a "national tragedy that deeply shocks our whole country." In a statement posted on X, he expressed the collective sorrow, writing, "There are no words for the pain and grief that all of us, the whole of Austria, feel now"
President Alexander Van der Bellen stated that "this horror cannot be captured in words." He further added, "these were young people who had their whole lives ahead of them. A teacher who accompanied them on their way"
Elke Kahr, the Mayor of Graz, was seen speaking with a policeman near the school where a shooting had occurred, resulting in multiple fatalities
