The shooting occurred around 12:38 pm at Or Tor Kor market, known for its premium fresh produce and seafood. Among the dead were four security guards, the Bangkok Post reported
Police said the gunman was found dead on a bench inside the market, wearing a black T-shirt and camouflage shorts. He was identified as 61-year-old Noi Praidaen from Khong district in Nakhon Ratchasima, based on an ID card and driving licence recovered at the scene
Two women were also injured in the attack. Authorities are currently investigating the motive behind the shooting
While mass shootings are relatively rare in Thailand, the country has witnessed several deadly incidents in recent years
