Madagascar’s President Andry Rajoelina has dissolved his government after youth-led protests over water and power cuts left at least 22 people dead and more than 100 injured. Inspired by Gen Z uprisings in Kenya and Nepal, the demonstrations have become the most serious challenge to his rule since his re-election in 2023.
