Hamas has officially confirmed the deaths of its armed wing spokesman Abu Obeida and former Gaza leader Mohammed Sinwar, marking a major moment in the ongoing Gaza war. In a video statement released by the al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas acknowledged for the first time that Abu Obeida — the masked figure who became the face of the group’s wartime messaging — was killed earlier this year. The group also revealed his real identity and announced the appointment of a new masked spokesman.
