Gabrielle threatens Azores: Spaghetti models track twin Atlantic cyclones & future storm paths

24 September,2025 09:36 PM IST

Hurricane Gabrielle, a Category 4 powerhouse, continues to churn over the Atlantic, posing a significant threat to the Azores islands and potentially Portugal in the coming days. With sustained winds of 130 MPH and strong convection near its center, Gabrielle remains a dangerous storm system for maritime and island communities. Forecasters are closely monitoring two additional Atlantic systems, Invest 93L and 94L, as spaghetti models reveal multiple potential cyclone tracks. Gabrielle’s northwest side threatens the Azores the most, while its southeast flank poses risks to several smaller islands. By Sunday, Gabrielle is projected to reach Portugal as a post-tropical storm, continuing to impact Europe’s Atlantic coast. WATCH
