Iran media has denied US President Donald Trump’s claim that Washington and Tehran held “productive” talks to resolve hostilities. Iranian officials said there were no direct or indirect communications with the United States and accused Trump of attempting to lower energy prices while buying time for possible military plans. Iran’s Foreign Ministry stated that Tehran did not initiate the conflict and insisted that Washington must take the lead in any de-escalation efforts. Reports from Iranian media also claimed the United States stepped back from planned strikes after Tehran warned it would target energy infrastructure across West Asia.
