The Israel Defense Forces says it has killed two Hamas operatives in separate strikes in Gaza City, including Muhammad Muhsen Nimr Yazji, a commander in Hamas’s Shati Battalion who was allegedly involved in holding three former Israeli hostages during the war. According to the IDF, Yazji was involved in the captivity of Emily Damari, Romi Gonen and Matan Angrest. Damari was abducted from Kfar Aza, Gonen from the Nova music festival, and Angrest from his tank during the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attack on Israel. All three were later released.
