The Israeli military says it has killed three Hamas Nukhba operatives in separate airstrikes across Gaza. Among those killed was Ahmed Muhammad Ahmed Baraka, whom the IDF accuses of participating in the October 7, 2023, kidnapping of Israeli civilians from Kibbutz Nir Oz. The military also alleges that Baraka helped hold Israeli soldier Nimrod Cohen hostage in southern Gaza. Two other operatives, Omar Awadallah and Moataz Mahmoud Mohammed Al-Nimr, were killed in a separate strike in northern Gaza. The IDF identified Awadallah as a Nukhba platoon commander.
