A diplomatic and trade war may be brewing between Brazil and the United States. President Donald Trump has slapped a 50% tariff on Brazilian steel imports after openly defending former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro, who is currently on trial for allegedly attempting to stay in power after losing the 2022 election to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
