The USS Gerald R. Ford, the largest aircraft carrier in the US fleet, has activated its public tracking beacon and is now approaching the Strait of Gibraltar as part of a major military redeployment toward the Middle East. With destroyers, stealth fighters, and long-range strike systems accompanying it, the carrier could soon join another US strike group already operating near Iran.
