TMC leaders staged a walkout in the Rajya Sabha on March 10, protesting the refusal to discuss the issue of fake voter IDs. They claimed their concerns were not being heard in the Upper House. The second part of the Parliament’s budget session began today and will run until April 4. Earlier, on Thursday, a delegation from the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) met with the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of West Bengal. They urged the government to introduce a "unique ID" system on voter cards to curb the inclusion of fake voters in the electoral rolls.
