Preparations are underway for Mahaparinirvan Diwas 2024, which will be celebrated on December 6th at Chaitya Bhoomi in Mumbai. This day marks the death anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, also known as Baba Saheb, who played a pivotal role in fighting for the rights of Dalits and marginalized communities in India. Chaitya Bhoomi, located near Shivaji Park, is a major site where thousands of people gather every year to pay homage to him. This year, elaborate arrangements are being made for the event, including decorations, security, and facilities for visitors. Devotees from across the country will attend the memorial service, honoring Dr. Ambedkar's legacy and his contributions to social justice and equality.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on April 14 inaugurated the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar on his 132nd birth anniversary. He also paid floral tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar. Minister of State for Social Justice, Ramdas Athawale was also present during the inauguration. Meanwhile NCP’s Supriya Sule paid tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar at Chaityabhoomi in Mumbai.
