She said, “There was this sequence in Bhopal, where my character’s husband dies, and I take centre stage. I look before me. There are 2,000-3,000 people, for as long as your eyes can see. I’m supposed to give a speech in front of them, like a politician, and with the film’s entire cast [on the podium]. My hands were trembling. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to hold a massive roadshow in Ghatkopar in the Mumbai North East constituency on Wednesday, May 15. Stretching over 2.5 km, the roadshow will kick off at 8 pm from Shreyas Cinema on LBS Marg, and will end up at Gandhi Market. Mihir Kotecha, nominated by the Bharatiya Janata Party, is vying for the seat, slated for polls on May 20 alongside other Mumbai constituencies in the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha election. Mumbai police has issued traffic diversions in parts of the city ahead of pm Modi's roadshow in Mumbai for Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

India on May 13 signed a historic Long-Term Bilateral Contract on Chabahar Port Operation in Iran for ten years. The 10-year long-term lease agreement strengthens bilateral ties between the two countries boosting trust among trading communities. The project came after PM Modi met with Iranian Prez Ebrahim Raisi in Johannesburg on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in 2023. The two leaders discussed the pending long-term contract on Chabahar and gave clear political direction to finalise the deal. Now, the United States seems to be rattled by the India-Iran flagship deal amid conflict with Iran. Hours after India signed the agreement, the US warned “anyone” (India) of inviting “potential risk of sanctions”. US State Dept spox highlighted that the USA will let the Indian govt speak on its foreign policy goals. Chabahar Port is an India-Iran flagship project that serves as an important transit port for trade with Afghanistan, and Central Asian countries. India has been a key player in the development and operation of Chabahar Port in Iran.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi filed his nomination from Varanasi for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, seeking a third term from the constituency on May 14. UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Pandit Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid, and NDA ally leaders, accompanied him while he filed for nomination. Varanasi goes in for polling on June 1 in the seventh and last phase of the general elections. PM Modi hopes to retain his seat in the holy Hindu city Varanasi, his constituency, from where he ran and won, first in 2014 and then again in 2019. In a tragic incident, as many as 14 people were killed after a massive hoarding collapsed in Maharashtra’s Ghatkopar on May 13. As per NDRF, 74 people have been rescued alive from the spot as the recuse operation is underway. NDRF has been conducting rescue operations for the trapped since Monday evening when the incident occurred due to heavy rains, strong winds. Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde rushed to the incident site and took stock of the rescue operation. He also announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs 5 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased. Taking to ‘X’, President Droupadi Murmu, VP Jagdeep Dhankhar mourned the deaths and prayed for speedy recovery of the injured.

Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi passed away on May 13. The 72-year-old senior BJP leader passed away at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi. He was battling cancer for the last seven months. He was suffering from urinary bladder cancer metastasis. Modi was at the last stage of cancer. He announced his treatment last month and did not participate in the Lok Sabha Election Campaign. Sushil Kumar Modi who was born on 5th January 1952 was a lifelong member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). His mortal remains will be brought to his residence in Patna and his last rites will be performed on 14th May. PM Modi expressed grief for the loss of his valuable colleague and friend through a post on X. Home Minister Amit Shah also condoled the demise of the BJP leader through a post on X. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also grieved the loss of Sushil Kumar Modi. BJP leader JP Nadda also extended his condolences.
