In a shining example of resilience and courage, 17-year-old Kafi, an acid attack survivor from Chandigarh, scored 95.6 per cent in the CBSE Class 12 examinations--and that’s not all. Kafi aspires to become an IAS officer in the near future. Kafi said, "I belong to Hisar, Haryana. In the recent results of the CBSE Boards, I scored 95.6% in Class 12. In Class 10, I had scored 95.2% as well. I am an acid attack victim, and my target is to become an IAS officer. Being a visually challenged girl, there were a lot of challenges, but my parents and teachers helped me a lot to conquer them... My main sources of study were audio and textbooks..."

These laws are the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, which came into effect on July 1. They replace the old British-era laws, including the Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, and the Indian Evidence Act. Chandigarh has become the first place in India to fully implement these laws. Union Home Minister Amit Shah also confirmed that the laws have been successfully applied in Chandigarh. This marks a significant step in modernizing India's legal system, aimed at providing better justice and security for citizens.
03 December,2024 02:58 PM ISTTwo low-intensity explosions were reported at two bar-cum-lounges in Chandigarh’s Sector 26 between 3:15 am and 3:30 am on Tuesday. The blasts occurred outside De’Orra and Seville, with one of the lounges owned by rapper Badshah. Fortunately, no one was injured, but the glass windows of one restaurant were shattered. Police sources said that two men on a motorcycle set off an explosive device near the entrance of Seville at 3:15 am. There is no CCTV footage of the first blast, but the second explosion at De’Orra, just 30 meters away, was captured on camera. In this incident, the men threw a crude bomb, causing the glass panes of the bar-cum-lounge to shatter. The police are investigating the blasts, and no one has been arrested yet
26 November,2024 02:30 PM ISTA suspected grenade blast rocked Sector 10 of Chandigarh on the evening of 11th September. The explosion, which occurred around 5:30 PM, caused damage to some windows and garden pots. Thankfully no casualties were reported. CCTV footage captured the dramatic moment of the blast, showing an autorickshaw speeding away from the scene. The vehicle narrowly avoided a collision with an oncoming car before making a sharp turn. The viral video shows two men, one in a white t-shirt, lurking near the house in the union territory’s upscale Sector 10 area in an autorickshaw. Police have arrested one individual in connection with the incident. All evidence has been collected from the blast site as the investigation continues.
