Delhi High Court

The legal battle surrounding the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has taken a dramatic turn after the Delhi High Court refused to immediately restore the group's X account. While declining interim relief, the court issued notices to the Union Government and social media platform X, making it clear that no final decision would be taken before hearing their submissions. Founded by Abhijeet Dipke, the CJP has emerged as one of India's fastest-growing satirical political movements online, attracting significant youth support. The court observed that some of the content posted by the account appeared "slightly offensive" and directed a review under the IT Rules before any further action.

Actor Jackie Shroff has approached the Delhi High Court to seek protection of his personality and publicity rights on May 14. The suit has been filed against entities for unauthorized use of his name, photographs, voice, and the iconic term "Bhidu." Shroff is asking the court to stop these parties from using any part of his identity that makes him unique, as this could confuse or deceive people. On Tuesday, Justice Sanjeev Narula took up the case and issued summons related to Shroff's request. The actor is requesting a permanent injunction to prevent the defendants from violating his personality and publicity rights by using his name 'Jackie Shroff', 'Jackie', 'Jaggu Dada', 'Bhidu', as well as his voice, image, and any other unique attributes associated with him, for any commercial or personal benefit.
