Monsoon diseases are a common occurrence with the onset of the rainy season. A range of viral infections and illnesses like the Common cold, Flu, Typhoid, Dengue and Leptospirosis grip people during this season hampering their health and wellness. We spoke to Dr. Manjusha Agarwal, Senior Consultant- Internal Medicine at Global Hospitals, Parel Mumbai to understand the ways in which we can protect ourselves from monsoon-related illnesses and the disease symptoms to watch out for. 

Kerala has been battling a dengue epidemic. With 3,543 reported cases this year - 2,250 in Thiruvananthapuram alone - the state has seen highest number of dengue cases since 2005.
