Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has received permission from the Bombay High Court to file a civil defamation suit against Meta, Google, X and other entities over alleged defamatory posts and deepfake content linking him to the Centre's E20 ethanol-blending programme. The legal battle comes as a new online movement called the E20 Janta Party rapidly gains traction on social media. The digital campaign, inspired by the Cockroach Janta Party movement, is demanding the option of 100% petrol and has also called for Gadkari's resignation. Gadkari has maintained that he had no role in implementing the E20 programme, saying it is administered by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

The BJP has shared a viral video alleging that TVK leader Veera, Mambakkam Panchayat President and Chengalpattu East District Joint Secretary, accepted a ₹1.3 lakh bribe from a road contractor. The BJP claims the payment was made to clear pending contractor bills, with part of the amount allegedly transferred via Google Pay before the remaining cash was handed over in Veera's office. The controversy comes just days after Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay delivered a strong anti-corruption speech, urging people not to pay bribes and vowing action against corruption.
