A police home guard, who survived the militant attack in Gurdaspur on Tuesday, recalled the 12-hour-long siege with the heavily armed assailants.

In a shocking incident, a class-eight student threw acid on five of his batch mates in Punjab state on Wednesday to avenge his expulsion from school. The five girls were returning from school in Gurdaspur district when they were attacked by the accused.
