The solemn ceremony marked the official opening of the Republic Day proceedings, with a wreath laid in honour of India’s fallen soldiers and a heartfelt moment of silence dedicated to the martyrs who sacrificed everything for the nation. The Prime Minister was welcomed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh upon his arrival, and the tribute included a two-minute silence followed by the “Rouse” and the Salami Shastra command, a deeply emotional start to the nation’s grand celebration. On 24th of April, a gruesome murder took place near India Gate, New Delhi. A 25-year-old ice cream vendor named Prabhakar was stabbed to death during a fight near India Gate late Wednesday evening. A case of murder was registered under Section 302 IPC. The preliminary investigation suggests that Prabhat was selling ice cream when he had an argument with a customer over payment. The matter escalated and the accused stabbed Prabhat with a knife, before running away from the crime spot. Prabhat rushed to the hospital but was declared dead by the doctors. The police arrested the accused, who was on the run after identifying him with the assistance of CCTV cameras installed in nearby shops. He has been brought to the police station for further information.
