Shiv Sena corporator Ramesh Mhatre has been arrested in connection with the alleged assault of doctors and nurses at KDMC's Shastri Nagar Hospital in Dombivli, Thane district. Produced before a Kalyan court, Mhatre was remanded to three days of police custody. Mumbai is battling one of its deadliest monsoon spells of the season after relentless rainfall claimed at least 10 lives, triggered a deadly chawl collapse in Mankhurd, caused landslides and brought large parts of the city to a standstill.
